What stays on your computer

Everything DevKit works with is stored on your computer and never sent to us:

• Your sites, settings and parked folders
• Recorded requests, including headers and bodies, caught mail, dumps and logs
• Database contents for the services you run
• Your Cloudflare API token, if you add one, kept in a file in DevKit's settings folder that only your user account can read

You can delete any of it from the app at any time.

When DevKit connects to the internet

DevKit only goes online for these reasons. Each service sees your IP address and handles it under its own privacy policy:

• Checking for updates: DevKit asks our update server, downloads.getdevkit.app, whether a newer version exists. The request includes your DevKit version and operating system, and nothing else.
• Downloading runtimes and services: when you install PHP, Python, Node, a database or a tool, DevKit downloads it from that project's official source, listed in the app before it downloads.
• Sharing a site: requests to a shared address pass through Cloudflare, and people visiting it see whatever your site serves. Stop sharing to end it.
• Your own domain: if you add a Cloudflare API token, DevKit sends it only to Cloudflare's API to create the tunnel and DNS records.

This website

This website is a static site hosted by Netlify. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Netlify keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to operate and secure its service.

Children

DevKit is a developer tool and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect any personal information, from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If DevKit ever starts collecting anything, it will be opt-in, and this page will say so before the release that adds it. Significant changes are announced in the app's release notes.
