PHP
DevKit installs PHP 8.0 to 8.5 on demand from static-php-cli builds, which include the extensions most frameworks need. Install versions on the Runtimes screen.
Default and per-site versions
Section titled “Default and per-site versions”The default version serves every PHP site that doesn’t ask for another. Change it on the Runtimes screen or with:
devkit use 8.4Pin a site to another version in its row on the Sites screen, or:
devkit isolate 8.2 --site legacyEach version runs its own PHP-FPM pool, started on the first request.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”Runtimes › PHP settings sets these for every version:
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
memory_limit |
512M |
upload_max_filesize and post_max_size |
100M |
max_execution_time |
120 seconds |
For anything else, add .ini files to ~/Library/Application Support/DevKit/php/conf.d. They’re loaded by every version after DevKit’s own settings, so they win. Edit your php.ini files on the PHP settings panel opens the folder in your editor. Saving the PHP settings restarts PHP, which also picks up changed files.
Composer
Section titled “Composer”DevKit downloads Composer and checks it against the SHA-256 getcomposer.org publishes. devkit composer …, or composer once DevKit is on your PATH, runs it with the folder’s PHP.
